Dear Resident, This week the Met is launching the next phase of the New Met for London plan – and we are building on a mission that is working. We are driving down neighbourhood crime and violence, and we are arresting more than 1,000 extra criminals a month. Locally here in Hounslow we have already seen some real achievements. Over the last 12 months, compared to the previous 12 month period, we have achieved: A significant reduction in burglaries with a 14.9% decrease in offences. Robbery (of people) has decreased by 10.8%.All violence resulting in injury has decreased by 6.4%.We continue to support local businesses and have increased positive outcomes for shoplifting by 145% with over 230 cases successfully investigated. Many repeat offenders have already been given Criminal Behaviour Orders as a result, keeping our town centres safe.We have witnessed a 19.2% increase in sexual offences positive outcomes. This means more victim survivors are speaking up and more offenders are being brought to justice. The New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will see us: Put you and Londoners across the city at the heart of precise community crime-fighting, investing more in our local neighbourhood crime-fighting teams, driving performance on the frontline and making sure you can influence where we focus our efforts.Harness the power of technology and data to make a profound shift in how we police London and Hounslow. Across the city the Met is looking at expanding the use of facial recognition technology and becoming even more precise in targeting the small number of offenders who cause the most harm, and the places and victims that suffer most.Build new partnerships and improve existing ones – whether with the public, private or the third sector – to achieve the best possible outcomes for you.As part of this commitment to listening to you, we hosted our Community Crime-Fighting event on Thursday 16th October 2025, where you told us your main priorities were: Keeping Hounslow safe especially in our busy town centres.Increase safety for women and girls on our streets.Reduce anti-social behaviour by providing police presence and visibility. Thanks to your input, we are continuing to work hard to tackle these issues: We want to ensure that Hounslow is a safe Borough where violence, harassment and intimidation towards women and girls has no place. Each day we are scanning for such offences to build intelligence trends and deploy our officers to key hotspots including open spaces and Town Centres. We are determined to reduce anti-social behaviour across Hounslow. Policing activities within our Town Centres will increase to combat anti-social behaviour, including targeted operations to tackle the use of illegal e-bikes and the use of Live Facial Recognition technology. We will target venues and individuals who persistently offend or cause anti-social behaviour by enforcing both criminal behaviour orders and community protection notices, and working with partners across Hounslow. The full New Met for London 2 strategy is now available for you to read online. I want to keep the conversation going - so thank you for joining us on Met Engage, which was introduced to help us do exactly that. Wishing you all a merry Christmas and warmest wishes for the New Year. **********************Hounslow Heath SNT ***************************
